Selling in Nordic markets
Nordic buyers tend to expect directness, preparation and evidence. Decisions are often consensual, with several people involved, and a salesperson who pushes too hard can lose trust quickly. Sales training that works in other markets may need a different tone here.
Our Nordic consultants build programmes around these expectations: thorough customer insight, clear value cases and conversations that respect the customer's process. The same programme can then run in Oslo, Stockholm, Helsinki and Copenhagen, with local delivery and one set of measures.
Nordic companies are often relatively small at home and international from an early stage, so their salespeople regularly sell across borders and cultures. Training needs to prepare them for that range of customers as well as for the home market.
Our Nordic team
Three of our five Nordic consultants are Gyroscope co-founders. Andreas Folkvord and Richard Stephenson are based in Norway, Anders Wennergren in Sweden, Harri Lappi in Finland and Daniel Sebenius in Denmark. Their experience covers the financial sector, manufacturing, defence and engineering, international sports organisations and owner-managed businesses, with focus areas including sales management, KAM, Value Selling, bid and stakeholder communication, and disciplined execution.
Several of our Nordic consultants have held board positions, run their own businesses or carried full profit and loss responsibility. They work comfortably with executive teams on strategy and structure as well as with sales teams on skills. Daniel Sebenius founded the consultancy 2nd Position and works as a performance architect, helping leaders turn strategy into disciplined execution.
What we deliver across the Nordics
- Value Selling, helping teams quantify the impact of their offer and move away from discount-led selling.
- KAM: The Customer Gyroscope, for strategic accounts managed across Nordic borders or globally.
- Sales Leadership, developing managers as coaches who plan, coach and execute consistently.
- Sales Diagnostics with FIT2SELL and FIT4KAM, giving leaders an agreed As Is, Should Be and costed plan.
- The Sales Gym, short virtual or hybrid workouts that suit dispersed teams.
Programmes blend in-person workshops, digital learning through the Sales Performance Platform and AI practice with Skeells.
Short, practical formats suit Nordic teams that cover large territories with long travel times. Virtual Sales Gym sessions and AI practice let people develop skills without long absences from customers, while in-person workshops are kept for the moments where face-to-face work adds most value.
Part of a wider international programme
Many Nordic clients sell well beyond the region. When a programme needs to reach teams in the rest of Europe, Asia or the Americas, our Nordic consultants work with colleagues across the group under one programme lead. Measurement with the LTEM model gives a consistent view of competence, behaviour change and commercial results in every country.
Before delivery we agree the measures that matter to you, such as win rates on target accounts, pipeline quality or adoption of account plans, and we report on them throughout.
